HAWU! Pots at Mantenga Hawu! Pottery, unique to the Mantenga Craft Centre, brings together craft and the Community. High in the Bulunga Mountains the women of the Nkambule family have been using age-old methods to create traditional clay pots for over five generations. The development of strong links between the family and Mantenga Craft enables the wider community to buy into this traditional and authentic Southern African Craft. The stunning pots come in over 20 shapes and sizes. The earthy brown, green and red tones of the pots stand beautifully on their own, or otherwise a fabric decoration based on traditional Swazi designs can compliment the natural beauty of the clay. Perfect as ornaments, plant pots, vases, candleholders, gifts or souverniors, a Hawu! Pot is something that no home should be without. So visit the Mantenga Craft Centre to see for yourself the pots being decorated, to discover more about this talented community and to delve deeper into the intriguing story of the Hawu! Pots.
