About the Happenings Pages

The Swaziplace Happenings Pages are intended as a work in progress, a community endeavor, aiming to promote the Swaziland cultural and entertainment scene

It will include anything that you think may be of interest to the public in general, such as: Fundraising Events, Offroad rallies, Music Concerts, Drama Productions, Flea Markets, Horse Shows, Air Shows, Dog Shows etc. etc.

About Zoe's Swazi Diary

Do you ever get the feeling that there are either too many special events going on at the same time or absolutely none at all ?

It always seems as though every time there's something special happening, such as a Fundraising Dinner / Film Premiere / Offroad rally / Concert etc., there are too many other events taking place at the same time and you're torn between them. For example - having the Swazi Trails Ecochallenge on the same weekend as the 4x4 Club's Regularity Raid .......

I would like to make a proposal ....

I am offering my services, at no charge, to start and maintain an ongoing "Swaziland Special Events Calendar". This can include anything that you think may be of interest to the public in general, such as : Fundraising Events, Offroad rallies, Music Concerts, Drama Productions, Flea Markets, Horse Shows, Dog Shows etc.
I will also put the Swaziland school holidays on to the calendar if someone would be kind enough to provide me with those details.

  • If you provide me with :
  • The name of the Organisation / Sports Group etc.
  • The name of the event
  • Date of event
  • Venue of event
  • Time of event
  • Name of contact person
  • Contact telephone number or email address

An example :

I will put the details down on a Calendar (it will be done on an MS Excel spreadsheet) and will send out a monthly email to the members of the Happenings mailng list, so that you can see what's happening around Swaziland in the forthcoming month/s. The calendar information will be available and updated continuosly in these pages.

The benefits of this Calendar will be:

  • That, hopefully, we won't get so many double-bookings
  • You will know what's going within the Kingdom
  • You may get additional support at the events you're organising because people know about them in advance
  • You will be able to check on potential dates prior to finalising your own so that your event doesn't clash with someone else's

There are a couple of conditions:

  • Please don't phone me about the Calendar - send me emails instead
  • Please only provide details about SPECIAL events, not the run-of-the-mill every-day / weekly happenings

You will be able to unsubscribe anytime yo wish, and be assured that your e-mail address will be kept confidential and won't be disclosed to any third parties!
